When I see something I love, my jaw drops and I say "woww!" I've had a moment just like that as I see these cups. Bazen bir tasarım görünce öylesine beğeniyorum ki, kendi kendime sesli şekilde "aaaaa" diye hayranlık sesleri çıkarıyorum. İşte aynısını bu kahve fincanlarını görünce yaşadım. Fincan ahşap olduğundan ve de içecek dediğimiz şey "ıslak" olduğundan bu ikisinin birlikteliğindeki malzeme dayanımı elverişli midir kullanmaya bilemiyorum, ama ben çok beğendim! Tasarım hakkında biraz daha bilgi edinmek için buraya tıklayınız. Hashimoto Yukio Design Studio tarafından tasarlanmış. Buraya tıklayıp satın alabilirsiniz. Acaba bu fincanda içilen Türk Kahvesi sonrası bakılan fal nasıl çıkar? :))

Türkiye'nin 7 Rengi - Özgürlük Tasarım Çalışmamız

Today is the day that I will be working with 28 students who come to Istanbul for 1 week from all over Turkey. (On thursday there will be one more session with me and the other 28 students)
I prepare a guideline for them to realize the stages of design.
The idea to start with is Freedom.
So, I am excited to see the results!

Happy New Year! - 01_Designroom New Year's & Opening Party

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Before I prepare a very personal post about 2013, I would like to tell you 3 things that has something to do with New Year...
Here is the 1st one:
On 29.12.12, we had a New Year's & Opening Party for Designroom. We were all in the "room". I was so excited. We prepared things to eat and drink for our guest; and mini gifts, just to make sure that everyone can remember us. :)

2013 ile ilgili baya kişisel bir post hazırlamadan önce, size yeni yıl ile alakalı 3 şey göstermek istiyorum...
Bu 1.'si:
29.12.12 Cumartesi günü, Designroom'da Yeni Yıl Partisi ile Açılış Partisi karışımı bir parti düzenledik. Bahsetmiştim. Hepimiz "odada"ydık. Ben çok heyecanlıydım. Misafirlerimize yiyecek-içecek ikramlarımız ve minik hediyelerimiz oldu, hatırlanalım diye. :)
Gelenlere çok çok teşekkür ederiz.

Netmoda Blogger Event @Dada Istanbul

Last Tuesday I was invited to the event that Netmoda.com did for bloggers at Dada Istanbul. It was a great evening. I had the chance to meet new bloggers and also the Netmoda.com crew. They are all very friendly people. They know what they are doing and they working really hard. They will be the new media platform for Fashion in Turkey. Nowadays the traditional ways of choosing yours style has been chaging as you all know. from actual stores, we began to shop by surfing on internet. By Netmoda.com, we users, will do that and also improve it. I love to see people who work hard, in order to reach their goals. I was so glad that I got to meet so many beautiful people there. I am glad that they invited me. Thank you Netmoda! I love you...
PS: There was also another beauty in the event. I could tell them about Designroom and share our Designroom knitted collars with the people I met. :)

Geçen salı günkü Dada İstanbul'da gerçekleştirilen Netmoda blogger gecesine davetliydim. Harika bir akşam oldu. Bir çok blogger ve Netmoda.com ekibiyle tanışma fırsatı buldum. Herkes çok canayakındı. Ne yaptığını ve çok çalışan bir ekip. Türkiye'deki modanın sosyal medyadaki adı olacak. Eski zamandaki mağazada stil deneme yöntemlerine ilave olarak, artık internet üzerinden stilimizi seçiyor olduk. Bunu Netmoda.com ile yapıp geliştireceğiz. Hedeflerini koyup o yolda azimle çalışan insanları görmeye bayılıyorum. Bu güzel kişilerle tanıştığım için çok mutluyum ve beni de çağırmış oldukları için. Teşekkürler Netmoda! Sizi seviyorum...

Feeling Good about Incompleteness

Today a funny happened to me. I did not ever know that I could feel it, but I did. And I am glad I did...:)
Normally, I am kind of a person who decides on something and moves on right to the result. I expected everything to be perfect at one shot. When the things don't go like the way I wanted them to go, then I go crazy. Well, that was my normal attitude.
But today...things seem to be changing for me. :)
As I told you before, me & İpek are working on our own firm Designroom (click here to see our websites-finally it is open), designing, producing, meeting with manufacturers, doing all the work for establishing it by ourselves...and so on, as well as working in an Architectural firm as full time architects.
Today I got the result of a handbag from the atelier I imagined&designed. I was happy to see it, but you know what, there were missing things about the design. I looked at it and saw that it can be improved. The funny thing is that I got even happier about the way it is incomplete!
I am surprised at my attitude, my happiness about something I did incompletely! I feel much more free and pleasant with this feeling...Thank God!...You can't imagine how important it is for me...
This will take me to the next level, yeah!!!
Now what we have to is, gotta keep on trying until it is complete!:)))
"dreams don't work, unless we do", right?

Bugün değişik bir şey oldu. Hissedebileceğimi sanmadığım bir şeyi hissettim. Ve hissedebildiğim için de memnunum...:)
Normalde yapı olarak, hızlı karar verip, hemen sonuca ilerleyen bir insanımdır. Her şeyin ilk yapışta en güzel şekliyle olmasını da beklerim doğrusu. Bir şeyler istediğim gibi gitmediğinde de, deliye dönebilirim. Bu benim normal tavrım-dı.
Fakat bugün...benim için bir şeylerin değiştiğini görmeye başladım. :)
Daha önce bahsettiğim gibi İpek'le beraber Designroom'umuzu (websitemizi incelemek için tıklayınız), kurduk ve her türlü ayak işiydi, tasarımdı, üreticilerle toplantılardı, altyapıydı filan biz uğraşıyoruz tabii ki de. Aynı zamanda da tam zamanlı mimarlık işimize de devam etmek suretiyle.
Bugün de, kendi hayal ettiğim&tasarladığım çanta atölyeden geldi. Gördüğüme sevindim kendisini, ama, biliyor musunuz, bir şeyler eksikti tasarımıyla ilgili sanki. Baktım, inceledim ve daha geliştirilebilir olduğunu fark ettim. İlginç olan ise, bu şekilde tamamlanmamış, bitememiş olmasından dolayı daha da mutlu oldum!!
Kendi tavrıma da şaşırıyorum hala... Düşünün, kendim yaptım ve eksik olduğunu gördüm, geliştirilebilir olduğunu gördüm, bunu kabul ettim! Bu his kesinlikle beni daha daözgürleştirdi ve bana huzur verdi...Şükürler olsun!.. Benim için ne denli önemli bir bilseniz...
Beni bir üst kademeye çıkardı adeta, oley!
Şimdi yapmamız gereken ise, tamam olana kadar denemek, denemek, denemek!:)))
"biz çalışmazsak, hayallerimiz de gerçekleşmez", değil mi?

Flowers for our Designroom

These flowers are from a lovely friend for our new place... "your new place?" you are asking, right?
We have been working for establishing our own place where we can do the things that we love. We find designers for us to design as well as designing the products ourselves and producing them by some manufacturers and handcraftsmen. This place is our atelier, boutique and office. A place where we can make beautiful things that make people happy. Not only  fashion products, but also paper work, graphics, furniture and any other products that you could think of. As we are practicing architecture and interior design as our full-time jobs, we love doing it. We will also considering to make these spaces for you as well. Everything will take place one by one. :)
We would like to live and make you live in a beautiful and happy environment. We will piece that is for us.
This is only the beginning, keep on following us, you won't regret it. :)

Bu çiçekler sevgili bir arkadaşımızdan yeni yerimiz için hediye olarak geldi... "Yeni yeriniz mi? O nedir?" dediğinizi duyar gibiyim...
Bir süredir, kendi sevdiğimiz şeyleri yapabileceğimiz bir yer kurma üzerinde çalışıyoruz. Bizim için tasarım yapacak tasarımcılarla çalıştığımız gibi kendi tasarımlarımızı yapıp üreteceğimiz ürünlerimiz lsun istiyorduk. Bu yer, hem bir atölye, hem bir butik, hem de bir ofis olarak bizi barındıracaktı. Öyle bir yer ki, insanı mutlu eden güzel şeyler üretebilmeye imkan versin istedik. Sadece moda-tekstil ürünleri değil, aynı zamanda kağıt işleri, grafik çalışmalar, mobilya ve diğer endüstri ürünleri de yapabilelim istedik. Aynı zamanda, asıl tam zamanlı işimizde de mimari ve içmimariyi yoğun şekilde gerçekleştiriyoruz, çok da severek yapıyoruz. Aynı şekilde bu tasarım odamızda da bu yönde çalışmalarımız olmasını düşünüyoruz. Her şey adım adım yerini bulacak, bizi bulacak, sizi bulacak. :)
Biz güzel ve mutlu bir çevrede yaşamayı istiyoruz. Bunu yapmak için uğraşıyoruz, yapıyoruz. Aynı şekilde sizin için de bunu yapmak istiyoruz. Bunun bir parçası olmak istiyoruz.
